Mackenzie Moss is sitting at home, browsing on her phone. She looks up when Carter Cruise steps in through the door, looking relieved. ‘Hey, babe,’ Mackenzie says as she bounces to her feet and greets her girlfriend with a kiss, which Carter quickly returns. Mackenzie asks how Carter’s day at college was. Carter says that it was a busy day and it’s not over yet, sadly — she has to go right back out to one of her classmates’ houses to help them with a project.
